Local constituency MSP Finlay Carson is urging constituents to take up an offer under the Warm Home Discount Scheme.
Time is fast running out for Scottish Gas customers wishing to apply for the scheme benefits.
The Galloway and West Dumfries MSP has warned that applications close on Thursday, 20 February, so if you wish to take advantage and be considered then take action now.
He said: “The Warm Home Discount is a one-off £150 payment towards electricity bills, paid directly by energy suppliers to their customers. So, the financial benefits are clear to see.
“The payment is targeted to those on low incomes including those who receive means tested benefits and is separate from the Energy Bill Support Scheme.”
Customers must apply for the payments through their electricity suppliers before 31st March 2025.
The gas giant is also providing additional support this Winter to both Scottish Gas customers and customers of other energy suppliers through the independent Scottish Gas Energy Trust.
Through the Trust, Scottish Gas customers can apply for grants of up to £2,000 through the Energy Support Fund which is solely funded by Centrica.
