Farm Tax

Today I took part in a debate centred around the UK Government's damaging impact on Scotland's rural economy. With the cruel Family Farm Tax about to be imposed on hardworking farmers across the country, amongst other shortcomings, the UK Government has undoubtedly failed our rural economy.

Moreover, now that the Scottish Government has full control of the rural budget, Scotland's rural economy will be set for another hit. I spoke on the anti-rural SNP track record, as well as the danger that the Family Farm Tax poses.

As Conservative MSP for Galloway and West Dumfries, I will always champion the interests of farmers and the rural economy, and I understand the crucial role they play in providing food on our table.
